Mistborn

Book Club Read
This was my first Brandon Sanderson book, and now I understand why people talk about him the way they do.
I’ve heard him compared to Tolkien before, and while I don’t want to go that far just yet, I will say this story pulled me in more than I expected it to. What really stood out to me was the shared hatred toward their king, or god, depending on how you look at him. That tension alone was enough to keep me invested, but it was how it brought everyone together that made it work so well.
Vin’s character was one of my favorite parts of the story. Watching her grow into herself, especially after losing her teacher, hit harder than I expected. He knew what she was capable of before she did, and seeing her slowly step into that role made everything feel more meaningful.
I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface with this series, and I definitely need to keep going. If this is how it starts, I need to know where it goes next.
